Hi Loren, Thank you for your feedback. We understand that paying for diagnostics without a completed repair can be frustrating. When you brought your Subaru in for a significant engine noise, additional diagnostic disassembly was approved to determine the cause. During that process, we found internal engine damage, including dislodged components, camshaft damage, and metal contamination in the oil. While the findings were not what anyone hoped for, the diagnostic work provided a clear understanding of the engine's condition and the source of the noise.
